Longwave - 'Not Waving But Drowning?' - Released 24th Dec 2001 [More info]

Harmonies drift in on a Californian breeze, the very essence of The Beach Boys, The Eagles and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, hanging in the air like wonderful ghosts from the hippie dream.

Then we're on that funky Long Train like a regular Doobie Brother, heading east picking up Soul Twins Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall in Philadelphia before we hit New York City.

It is night time, jazz floats from every bar as we stroll south on Broadway in the company of Mr Steely Dan.

But we still have distant dreams of folk music in a quaint little town, telling tales of everyday life, walking in the English rain on those rolling hills then coming home for tea and turning on the radio...but wait! What's this? Music on Radio Four!

"It may hit you in the middle of the night, it may get you when she holds you tight, it may grab you in the centre of the day, nothing you can do about it, you'll have to Sway..."
